Renowned Exorcist: Maria Divine Mercy's Visions Undoubtedly False

Father Elija Vella, an exorcist from Malta
Father Elija Vella was asked about Maria Divine Mercy during a Radio Maria program. Below is the transcript of what he had to say on the subject:

Question sent to Fr Elija: "For someone to say she is Maria Divine Mercy and that Jesus is appearing to her and He tells her the Pope is False. How can we find out if this person is genuine or not? Because a number of persons, some of them go to Mass every day, are believing these messages. What do you think?"

Fr. Elija: Thanks for asking because this way I will have the chance to reply to

Separated From God? Testimony

On 22/11/13 this article was in my news feed:
After I read that article, in particular the points about automatic excommunication, I felt an interior silence. It was then time for me to drive my children to school (1/2 hour trip) during which I was pondering what I had just read.

Whilst I was driving, I saw and felt myself being separated from God, and a question was put to me, “Is this what you want?” In response, I had an overwhelming feeling of grief and from the depths of my soul, there issued out a deep cry... ”no!” I cant even begin the utter grief I felt when I cried out “no” to this question. It is something I will never forget. I immediately went to confession on my return home and have since walked away from these messages and their associated prayers.

The Holy Spirit is the author of Canon Law, so would our Lord tell us do do something (in this case rebel against our Holy Father and thereby falling into schism) which violates His own Canon Law thereby excluding us from the sacraments, the very means of our salvation?

It would be ironic if this message was indeed one of the many false prophecies as predicted by Jesus when He said that "many will come in my name".

It is not up to us, the sheep to do anything but pray and trust. If the worst was to eventuate, that we would have an anti-pope, God himself would take care of the matter, just as he will take care of the matter when the Anti-Christ comes around. Don't forget that whatever purification happens, it will be allowed because the Church needs it (as you observe by the mess in the Church today).

What about "pledging allegiance"? We don't pledge allegiance, we consecrate
ourselves. And in prayer 33, which Father are we pledging our allegiance to? The Father of truth? Or the Father of lies? To whom do we bow in humble servitude?

Up until these messages, I have never heard of these expressions before, the more I ponder them, the more I question, and wonder if this is Satan's way of obtaining allegiance (sneaky as it is) with the promise of paradise just like he promises paradise to those who pledge their allegiance to him in the Masonic Lodges. These and many other questions have plagued me since I turned my back on these messages. Please also view this website http://mariadivinemercytrueorfalse.blogspot.com.au/

If you are are truly seeking the truth, remember deciding to enter into a schism is serious, it is a matter of eternal life or death…

Please… Consider carefully what you are doing.

Masonic Symbols in Maria Divine Mercy's Seal of the Living God?

Maria Divine Mercy frequently mentions Masonic influences that supposedly have overtaken the Vatican and where behind the election of Pope Francis.

From now famous investigative article written by Saseen who wrote Maria Divine Mercy: The Woman Behind The Curtain, we find out that MDM's Jesus approved of the Seal the Living God, designed by an graphic artist who had Masonic symbols in his stock images.

This is the red seal he designed.

But what are the origins of this symbol - the cross and the crown?

On a Polish Catholic blog 'In Defence of Tradition and Faith' we find an interesting comment, 'The seal of the Living God' that has been published on this page has kept me restless the whole day. I noticed that the seal contains the image of the cross with a crown. I contacted one of my friends, who has given me information that this sign is an ancient Masonic symbol of the Knights Templar"

The cross with a crown. If we search the internet we come across such interesting information with a quote from a Freemason Ray V. Denslow:

"The Cross and Crown may be said to be confined almost exclusively to the historical degrees in Masonry as exemplified in the various orders of knighthood of York and Scottish rites. In Gaul we find the cross to have been a solar symbol when it had equal arms and angles; to the Phoenicians it was an instrument of sacrifice to their God, Baal; and to the Egyptians, the crux ansata was his symbol of eternal life." (Ray V. Denslow, Masonic Portraits, Transactions of ths Missouri Lodge of Research, vol. #29, p.7---emphasis in the original)

Masonic Symbols

On the same website we read further:

The other group that uses the cross and crown emblem is Christian Science. This group was founded by Mary Baker Eddy in Massachusetts but Mason Henry Steele Olcott, who was co- founder of the Theosophical Society with Helena Petrovna Blavatsky,'" was an associate of Mary Baker Eddy.'" Some Eddy Brothers held seances and it was at these seances that Blavatsky met Col. Henry Steele Olcott.'" Mary Baker Eddy herself had married a Mason and this was the only secret society which she allowed other Christian Science members to join.'" She even had some of her material published in the Freemason's Monthly Magazine. "4 Several people connected with Christian Science such as directors and board members and a number of the editors of The Christian Science Monitor were Masons.'" Even the presidents of the Mother Church in 1922-23 and 1923-24

And there is another group that uses the crown and the cross symbol. That is Jehova's Witnesses' organisation Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society!

Quite an interesting choice - and this is the design that Jesus approved, as we read in Saseen's article?

How Doomsday Prophecies Affect Our Children. Testimony

A few words from a person whose family members are involved in the cult of Maria Divine Mercy.

I have been talking again with Mary McGovern's, MDM's disciples who continue
on their mission to spread her “bad news” rather than the Good News of Jesus Christ. True to form, they run away whenever the legitimacy of this controversial seer is challenged. Any criticism of their cult leader is anathema to them. (So much for following the exhortation of St. Peter to be prepared to give a reason for the hope that lies within you.) Their obstinate resistance and complete disregard for all the thoughtful, very Catholic reasons for rejecting their pet prophet, suggests a strong diabolical influence.

It is obvious, MDM’s “Books of Truth” have become their new canon of Sacred Scripture. Whatever their counterfeit Messiah proclaims from the heavens of cyberspace is unquestionably true. Do MDM'ers need proof? No. It is all about their feelings and a whole pile of conspiracy theories starting with Pope Paul VI being replaced by an impostor according to Veronica Leuken, the late Bayside seer of New York.

Cult followers repeatedly fail to make any distinction between private and public revelation and yes, they routinely refer to these books as an addition to the Holy Bible. Somehow, even citations from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, fails to penetrate their hearts. There is the morality of relativism and then there is the theology of relativists.

Accordingly, the heretics are none other than all opponents of MDM; they must be “liberals”; have their “heads in the sand,” or are simply too fearful to face reality that Holy Mother Church has already completely “disintegrated,” having been disemboweled by the architects of evil who have destroyed her from within.

Bottom line, her cult followers do not care who MDM is. They believe the messages because they want to. They are comfortable in their tight little "prayer" groups and do not want to be excluded from them. No matter that their allegiance to MDM is alienating them from their true family, the Church. Meanwhile, MDM opponents, do all the hard work of comparing and contrasting MDM's counterfeit Jesus with legitimate Catholic sources to verify if what "he" says coincides with the deposit of faith. All too often, the dissimilitudes are remarkable. There is just no way that Our Lord and the Blessed Mother could be spewing forth the nonsense and vitriol so characteristic of the W2C website. Why M&M disciples continue to consume all the offals from this website, like so much junk food served at a circus carnival, is a mystery: the mystery of iniquity.

Why? How could this happen to so many good members of the Church? The most adamant of them, have been reading end time prophecies about the hidden "Third Secret of Fatima," the chastisement, 'the Warning' most of their lives; worse yet, they have been spoon feeding these to their children. The cold war may be over but they still preach humanity will be wiped out by nuclear war and that Russia was never consecrated to Our Lady. Such parents, see no harm, even after their children leave home and are no longer practicing Catholics. Play the blame game. Their faith was not entirely lost because of corrupt or diluted teaching from so-called Catholic institutes of learning. Maybe, just maybe, it is time these parent's took some responsibility because their brand of Catholicism was so centered on sensationalism and doomsday scenarios that religion left a bad taste in the mouths of their children.

Before their children ever realized the marvelous plan God had prepared for them in this life, their disgruntled relatives, had already replaced their rightful heritage, joy and hope, with terrible end time prophecies. Rather than live as children of light, in awe and wonder of God’s great act of creation and redemption, they were taught to constantly monitor for signs of the end times. Is it any wonder, they lost faith when these prophecies failed to come true? Is it any wonder these children turn a deaf ear to their parents, even today, whenever they start talking about God?

Surely, it is one thing to live in a state of grace and another to live in a constant state of anxiety with no hope of a future apart from mass destruction and annihilation.Mary McGovern/ Carberry, a.k.a. Marie Divine Mercy, isn’t the first seer to announce the angels of the Apocalypse pouring down fire from the heavens on the heads of God’s children. Sadly, she won’t be the last.

Moreover, why would the offspring of these homes want to build anything with their lives when the hand of God is already to reach out and destroy it all? Why direct oneself to solve any of humanity’s problems if one is waiting for direct divine intervention to set mankind straight once and for all? How many of these insular groups are out on the streets protesting the greatest human rights issue of our day: abortion? On no. They are too busy spreading the end of the world prophecies to bother with anything that mundane.

At some point, one has to recognize that too much curiosity about the end times is simply unhealthy. Taken to its logical conclusion, one who follows MDM would have to think Jesus had left behind unfinished business. Worse yet, MDM is constantly preaching we must redeem ourselves in God's eyes. Is a Catholic still Catholic when he thinks Jesus had not fully accomplished His Father’s mission? Let God decide when these misled members have passed a point of no return. It isn't too hard to imagine, they are out on a limb on this one and the longer they hang on the more likely it is this branch will break and they will fall.

No. We are not called to be spectators in life. God doesn't want us to sit around to view the unfolding of human history; He wants us to actively cooperate with the life-giving gifts of the Holy Spirit in order to build a civilization of love - now. We are called to spread the kingdom of God, in the Mystical Body of Christ, to all people and to all nations. If Jesus decides to come while we are thus engaged, we will have nothing to fear.

“Well done, my good and fai thful servant. . . Enter into the joy of your Master.” (Matthew 25:21-22)

'Fundamental Delusion' - Bishop Greg O’Kelly SJ on Little Pebble, MDM and other sects

Bishop Greg O’Kelly SJ
Strangely and sadly, when many in Western Society appear to have grown weary of Christianity, and Christian people need to drink from the sources of Word and Sacrament within the Church, there are instances of devout people turning to weird sects, of decent Catholic people and others giving credence to some self-proclaimed visionary who leads them down paths that sew sorrow for many. These cults frequently result in family breakup, spiritual distress, rejection of the teachers of the Church, a self-righteousness and insulation from the wider Christian community is created and all based on someone’s supposed private revelations. Words are attributed to Jesus or Mary suggesting actions that are in contradiction to Jesus’ teachings in the Gospel.

Maria Divine Mercy and the Cup of Salvation

“The time has come to rise up now and take this Cup – drink from it, for it is the Cup of Salvation. By drinking from this Cup you will now be prepared to share this Cup with mankind. You now prepare to unveil the Words of Christ, so that souls can be saved during The Warning.” [HOLY SPIRIT] to MDM, Feb. 12, 2011

What can this most extraordinary command mean? MDM is appropriating to herself, words Jesus, pronounced during the institution of the Eucharist, “TAKE and eat; this is my body.” Then He took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them saying, “DRINK FROM IT, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant . . .” First and foremost, this command came from the second person of Blessed Trinity as He offered Himself as an oblation to His Father in heaven. It was not as we note here the Holy Spirit. There are more interesting observations.

Not only does this parallel the story of the three children of Fatima and therefore suggestive of an imitation but supersedes it, in as much as they received Holy Communion from the archangel Gabriel; whereas, in this story, MDM partook of the most Sacred Mysteries -the Precious Blood - directly from the Holy Spirit! Moreover, the children never handled the sacred species as they received the miracle of the Eucharist on their tongue. In this case, MDM was instructed to take the Cup of Salvation which is none other than the Precious Blood. Therefore, it is presumed she used her hands. What is the significance of this detail one may well ask? The Mother of Salvation, on Jan. 18, 2012, delivered this message to our seer:

“You insult my Son when you receive the Holy Eucharist in the hand.”

Given the appeal of this seer to ultra conservative Catholics who steadfastly refuse to handle the chalice with the Precious Blood because they deem it sacrilegious, this is a major faux-pas. Worse yet, MDM is the new high priest who will share this cup of salvation. One can only wonder how did this major inconsistency escape their discernment? What did not escape their attention was the follow warning from the Mother of Salvation given on the aforementioned date.

“Sadly, many of my children will, in their allegiance to the Catholic Faith, follow blindly this new false doctrine, like lambs to the slaughter.”

So this year when this message came about swallowing “the chalice of the serpent” was released MDM’s disciples had been prepared and understood exactly what their seer was telling them:

“Those of you {loyal Catholics} who side with the false prophet {identified as the successor of Pope Benedict XVI along with an entire litany of blasphemous titles} and the antichrist will be ensnared by Satan and he will not let you go free. Those of you who walk alongside My enemies and swallow the chalice of the serpent will be destroyed by him should you dare to challenge him.” Jesus to Maria Divine Mercy, Oct. 20, 2013

So we have two cups, one a gift supposedly from the Holy Spirit to Mdm to “share with
mankind
” and the second cup for the “lambs” who will be led “to the slaughter” is described as the “chalice of the serpent!” So what is this “chalice of the serpent” that Catholics will drink? It is a revised liturgy Pope Francis will institute as part of his new abominable church. (May 7, 2012) Furthermore, the Pope will offer “the chalice of the serpent.” This is no exaggeration. One needs to remember, her entire body of messages when reading them, in order to make the necessary connections.

“Pope Benedict will suffer much . . . Then THE HEAD OF MY CHURCH WILL BE REPLACED BY THE HEAD OF THE SERPENT.” [Jesus] Nov.13, 2012. Message # 614, “The Crowning of Thorns During My Crucifixion is Symbolic” (Warning Second Coming website)

Thus it is a legitimate conclusion, it is Pope Francis who has been demonized by MDM. He is the “head of the serpent” who now heads the Church of Christ.

Finally, we circle back to an earlier point about the Holy Spirit to ask is it even possible that the Holy Spirit could have been speaking directly to MDM? After all, she has signed the message with His signature. For the answer we turn to the sure norm of truth for teaching the faith: the catechism of the Catholic Church no. 687:

“Now God's Spirit, who reveals God, makes known to us Christ, his Word, his living Utterance, but THE SPIRIT DOES NOT SPEAK of HIMSELF. The Spirit who “has spoken through the prophets” makes us hear the Father's Word, but WE DO NOT HEAR THE SPIRIT HIMSELF. WE KNOW HIM ONLY IN THE MOVEMENT by WHICH HE REVEALS the WORD to us and disposes us to welcome him in faith. THE SPIRIT of TRUTH who “unveils” Christ to us “WILL NOT SPEAK ON HIS OWN.” (John 16:13)

It should be self - evident that her claim to the role of the ministerial priesthood where she is commanded to share “the cup of salvation” with the world, is as bogus as the rest of her roles: the last great prophet and the seventh angel of Revelation. Be that as it may, sometimes she gets it right:

“Tell My followers that as they take up My Chalice and march forward to spread the Truth of My return to Earth, that they too will suffer.” [Jesus] Aug. 28, 2011

How much will they suffer? A lot if they continue to drink from the poisonous cup of MDM. Jesus warned,

“Anyone who does not remain in Me will be thrown out like a branch and wither. . .” (John 15:6)

Biblical Lessons for Maria Divine Mercy

By PocketSketch

Lesson from Gideon

“I Am gathering MY ARMY quickly now and this will swell into a group of over 20 MILLION SOULS soon. THE LARGER THE ARMY, THE MORE POWERFUL WILL BE THE HOLY SPIRIT in bringing My children together as one to fight the deceiver.” [Beloved Saviour] Aug.31, 2011.

Who Is Maria Divine Mercy?

After Ron Conte published his blog article revealing the identity of Maria
Divine Mercy, it was a question of time before someone put the information together. 'Saseen', a former follower of MDM published his excellent investigative article Maria Divine Mercy: The Woman Behind The Curtain, where he examines the background of Mary McGovern Carberry, the real person behind 'Maria Divine Mercy' - and her organisation 'Warning Second Coming'. He writes:

Since Nov. 8, 2010, a woman identifying herself as Maria Divine Mercy, a Catholic messenger from God

Maria Divine Mercy and Identity Crisis

By Geoff Heggadon

The entity who speaks to Maria Divine Mercy claims to be Jesus, but it does not seem to be sure WHO Jesus is. The entity does not know that Jesus is a member of the Holy Trinity – who is inseparable and One God. Here are some of the entity’s mistakes:

Message 20/12/10 “It is time now for My Father’s children and followers, as well as those who believe in the Superior Being that is God, the Creator and Maker of all things, to join forces as one. Irrespective of which path you follow God, or whether you believe in Me, His only beloved Son, stand together as one.”

Look at how poorly this passage is written. “My Father’s Children and followers” surely these people

Concerning ‘Maria Divine Mercy’, Pope Francis, The False Prophet – and Dr. Kelly Bowring

By David Moorcroft.

In his article ‘Concerning “Maria Divine Mercy”, Pope Francis and the False
Dr Kelly Bowring
Prophet
’, Dr Kelly Bowring represents himself as ‘a Catholic theologian and author of best-selling books such as “The Secrets, Chastisement, and Triumph” and “The Great Battle Has Begun”. So we have a Catholic theologian who rakes in the shekels and puts ‘Dr’ in front of his name. We should be in for a real treat concerning the alleged revelations from heaven to ‘Maria Divine Mercy’ (MDM).

His first sentence reads:
‘The messages of Maria Divine Mercy(MDM), which she is reportedly receiving from heavenly sources, are plausible.’

Serpent's Chalice: Who is Pope Francis According To Maria Divine Mercy?

By PocketStetch
“Those of you who side with the false prophet and the antichrist will be ensnared by Satan and he will not let you go free. Those of you who walk alongside My enemies and swallow the chalice of the serpent will be destroyed by him should you dare to challenge him.” Jesus to Maria Divine Mercy, Oct. 20, 2013

Who is this serpent? It is Satan. Who is the false prophet? Pope Francis. MDM warns
(through her many voices) that he will create a new “one world church” in cooperation with the Antichrist. (July 30, 2012, Jan.18, 2012, May 7, 2012) He is one of the enemies of Jesus. Furthermore, the faithful, who “blindly” “side with” the Vicar of Christ, will be led by him “like lambs to the slaughter.” (Jan.18, 2012)

About So-Called Prophecies of Maria Divine Mercy

Two days ago I was sent several Facebook messages alerting me about 'The Great Warning to Humankind' from an anonymous Facebook account of religious nature and apparently Catholic, solely identified by the well-known image of Jesus of Divine Mercy, with three 'likes' and with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, photograph of Pope Francis and Zamora Diocese. Zamora Diocese! (Spain). I don't give it much importance when I come across things of this kind.

I had already checked the messages, when yesterday I was given flyers announcing "the Great Warning of God"

A Critical Review of Mr. Arthur Policaprio's 'The Book of Truth: A Critical Review'

By David Moorcroft

De La Salle,  and holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in
Business Management. He heads the local Mobext mobile
marketing company. He promotes Maria Divine Mercy
on his website Totus Tuus, Maria
The self-proclaimed ‘Catholic writer’ Arthur Policarpio begins his ‘Critical Review’ of the ‘Book of Truth’ by asking ‘Will the Second Coming of Jesus happen in our lifetime?’, and refers to a ‘series of alleged messages given to an Irish seer who goes by the anonymous name of “Maria Divine Mercy”’ (MDM).

So far, so good.  We are going to be treated to an impartial criticism of this ‘seer’s’ ‘alleged’ messages from heaven.
He then asks ‘Can we trust private revelation?’, and answers his own question:
‘God has always communicated to His people through “private revelations”. Moses, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Noah, Daniel, Revelation’

A Response to Arthur Policarpio's Response to Dr. Mark Miravalle

De La Salle,  and holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in
Business Management. He heads the local Mobext mobile
marketing company. He promotes Maria Divine Mercy
on his website Totus Tuus, Maria
The theologian Dr Mark Miravalle has published an article condemning the alleged prophetic messages to an anonymous ‘seer’ who calls herself ‘Maria Divine Mercy’ (MDM). The article has provoked a response from Mr Arthur Policarpio on his website ‘Totus Tuus, Maria’.

Mr Policarpio claims to be a Catholic writer. There are many like him, taking up space on the Internet and representing every strain of ‘Catholic’ thought abroad in the world. If we were Anglicans, we could call ‘Catholic writers’ a Broad Church. So where in this Latitudinarian profession do we place Mr Policarpio?

At the beginning of his ‘Response’, he accepts without question ‘the prophecies and messages given by Our Lord to the Irish seer “Maria Divine Mercy”.’ It is as well to get this clear: no time-wasting chit-chat about being objective. He says:

Seal of the Living God According To Maria Divine Mercy

Introduction

Maria Divine Mercy claims, absurdly, that she is the Seventh Angel of the Apocalypse who will declare the seventh seal in Revelation 7. She claims that her 'Seal' prayer is the seal which will promise protection to her believers during the persecution of Antichrist.

The seal is actually a reference to Ezekiel 9: the seal, or 'mark' upon the forehead, would in Old Testament times have been the Hebrew letter 'Tav', which looked like a cross. This prophecy, as the Fathers made clear, is fulfilled in Baptism, when we are sealed with a Cross on the forehead, and given a permanent sacramental 'mark' on our souls.

Can Satan Seduce Souls After Death?

By PocketSketch

"If only people knew the Truth of life after death. AFTER THE SOUL LEAVES THE BODY, WHETHER IT IS IN A STATE OF GRACE or not, SATAN TORMENTS THROUGH THE POWER of SEDUCTION. HE TRIES, EVEN THEN, TO DRAW SOULS TO HIM.” Sept. 26, 2012 (caps added by PocketSketch)

This is a horrible, terrifying and false teaching about life after death. Catholics have always believed that anyone who dies in a state of grace will be safe in the arms of

Maria Divine Mercy Exposed

By Rev. John B. Wang, Ph.D., J.U.D

MDM stands for Maria Divine Mercy, a pseudonym assumed by an alleged Irish woman, who claims to receive messages from Heaven. However, this writer believes that MDM is just a front, behind which there are some ghost writers, who are enemies of the Catholic Church and of Pope Francis. Very probably the Lefebvre group or some arch-conservatives are behind this plot. These people are favorable to Pope Benedict XVI who had bent over backwards to tolerate them. But they have been attacking Pope Francis, a holy, humble person, legitimately elected to the chair of Peter, to lead the Church on our journey of salvation.

Despite repeated condemnation by Church authorities around the world (Europe, Australia, and America), MDM

Buffalo Bishop Prohibits Dissemination of Maria Divine Mercy's Messages in Portland Diocese

Buffalo Bishop has prohibited dissemination of Maria Divine Mercy's messages in the Diocese of Portland

Full text of his letter below:

Bishop Richard. J. Malone
Full text below:

Dear Monsignor/Father,

Recently an enquiry was been made relative to some materials that are being disseminated through the website www.thewarningsecondcoming.com. The website contains the writings of "Maria Divine Mercy" which is the pseudonym of an anonymous woman who reportedly lives in Dublin and who claims to be a Roman Catholic and to be 'receiving spiritual guidance from the Catholic Church." Since some o the "messages" promote negative attitudes towards the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and of the Papacy, I have made further inquiry as to the "authenticity" of these alleged revelations.

Through the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, an inquiry was made of the Irish Catholic Conference to see if the Irish Bishops had issued any guidance. Some of the Irish Bishops had no knowledge of these revelations and none had made any statements. However, since the individual uses a pseudonym and is anonymous, it is difficult to investigate. However, there have been other statements made by other bishops. In particular, Bishop Coleridge of Brisbane, Australia has stated:
"I have examined some of these messages and found them to be patently fraudulent and corrosive of true Christian faith as the Catholic Church teaches it. The alleged recipient of the messages operates anonymously and refuses to identify and present herself to local Church authority for a theological examination of the content of her messages.

The messages contain certain theological and historical errors some of which fall within the category of bogus millenarianism, and they are more likely to provoke fear rather than the peace of the Spirit. They play on elements o the Catholic faith only to undermine it at its core. Moreover, they are outrageous in their claims against Pope Francis. Therefore, the messages of Maria Divine Mercy are not to be taken seriously, discussed, or distributed within the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

Additionally, both the National Catholic Register and New Advent have posted negative evaluations of the Maria Divine Mercy revelations which can be found at http://www.ncregister.com/blog/jimmy-akin/9-things-you-need-to-know-about-maria-divine-mercy and http://blog.newadvent.org/2013/03/a-closer-look-at-false-prophecies-of.html

Given the fact that the Church as not yet pronounced on the authenticity of these "revelations", and given the fact that more than one bishop has judged them to undermine the Catholic faith at its core, I hereby prohibit the dissemination or promotion of Maria Divine Mercy materials in the Diocese of Portland. If anyone approaches you or you are aware of anyone in your parish that is speaking about or promoting these materials please make them aware of this prohibition. This ban will be in effect, until such time as the "revelations" are authenticated by the Church.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Thank you for your ministry to your parishioners and for your commitment and fidelity to the Church.

May God bless you with His peace. Please know that you are in my prayers.

Yours sincerely in Christ,

(signed)
Most Reverend Richard. J. Malone
Apostolic Administrator of Portland
Bishop of Buffalo

"Bishop Richard Joseph Malone is the apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Portland. He served as the 11th Bishop of Portland, Maine, from March 2004 to May 29, 2012, when Pope Benedict XVI named him the 14th Bishop of Buffalo. Bishop Malone was installed in Buffalo on August 10,2012. On that same day, he became the apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Portland, a position he will hold until a new bishop is named for the diocese

Is Maria Divine Mercy Writing New Scripture?

Maria Divine Mercy  has repeatedly made this rather outlandish claim that her messages are, in fact, 'Holy Scripture'. Her first messages stated,

“You need all your energy to write the book. [The book of which I speak, is a Holy Scripture and is part of the plan which has been revealed in the ‘Book of Kells’.] This book will change lives, save souls and has been foretold. Yes, the book is what was prophesied. You are the writer. I am the Author. (November 12th, 2010)

The Book of Kells is the ancient Iish term for the four Gospels but interestingly. The term has been removed from the original message on 'WarningSecondComing website' though it is still available in some translations.

That is not the only time when the new 'scripture' needed correction. For example, on March 23,  'WarningSecondComing' website amended the message from the previous day that called on ALL the followers to fast from Monday until 15.30 on Good Friday and said that to those 'who do not wish to endure this suffering (fasting) 'I will grant you  great blessings', a rather attractive offer - who would not like great blessings after all? Especially if all it took was not to fast during the Holy Week.

What came first, the Church or the Bible?

None of the New Testament writings  called themselves Scripture until the Church decided that they should be part of the Bible.

Maria Divine Mercy writes,

“Why do My children ignore these teachings taught by My apostles since the new scriptures were produced?” (30 Nov 2010).

What teachings were taught by Apostles since the New Scriptures were produced? None.  As Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen wrote,
"It was the New Testament that came out of the Church, not the Church which came out of the New Testament."
“I call only on those who are brave enough to
take up my gauntlet.” MDM message 23/8/2011
(Is Jesus challenging us to a duel?)

The New Testament canon was approved and finalized as late as the fourth century A.D. In the early days of the Church  there were many writings  in circulation supposedly coming from the apostles. Some of them were read in the early Church, such as the 'Shepherd of Hermas' written by Pope Clement,' but they never made it into the final canon. The Church Father in union with the Pope, under guidance of the Holy Spirit determined which writings were inspired. The Councils of Rome (382 A.D.), Hippo (393 A.D), and Carthage (397 A.D.) finalised  the list of 27 books of New Testament. None of the twelve Apostles, of course, was alive at that time.

MDM and Sola Scriptura

Catholics see God's revelation as presented through Scripture, Tradition and the teaching body of the Church, the Magisterium. Protestants reject the Sacred Tradition and the Magistrium, claiming that only the Bible (Sola Scriptura) contains all the knowledge necessary for salvation.

Even the Bible itself seems to reject the doctrine of Sola Scriptura,  calling the Church 'the pillar and support of the truth' (1 Tim 3: 15), and warning the faithful about the dangers of private interpretation: "At the same time, we must recognise that the interpretation of scriptural prophecy is never a matter for the individual." (2 Pet 1: 20).

This is something that even Luther learnt the hard seeing the chaos Sola Scriptura and private judement in interpreting the Bible produced,  he said, "All men now presume to criticise the Gospel, almost every old dotting fool or prating sophist must, forsooth, be a doctor of divinity.'

The result today is thousands of Protestant denominations, all of which claim to rely solely on the Bible and yet cannot agree with each other on a number of points.

Maria Divine Mercy, unlike Catholics, embraces the doctrine of Sola Scriptura and is apparently a Protestant, as she claims,

"The Bible contains the Holy Word of God. The Bible contains the whole Truth. It does not lie. If you deny the Truth contained therein you deny the Word of God. (May 18, 2012).
Though this poses a few questions - if the Bible contains the whole truth, why do we need the Book of Truth? And happens when her messages contradict the Scripture? That should mean that one of them got it wrong, right?

But Maria Divine Mercy has a solution for that:
"My true prophets, for the most part, are ignorant of Holy Scripture or prophecies given to the world out of My Mercy. They do not need to quote extracts from the Holy Bible because I do not ask them to do this. My Word is given as it is. My Holy Bible is sacred. To extract sections out of it, in order to endorse any divine revelation, is not authorised. When a message is given by Me, the prophet writes what I dictate, and is never asked to replicate extracts given to the world by My apostles."  (April 28, 2013).
That is very convenient as it takes care of a number of problems - MDM is excusing herself for not knowing the Bible - as this is apparently a sign proving she is a true prophet. Also, nobody, including the Church even, is 'authorised' to examine whether the Book of Truth conforms to the Bible, which is normally the test of authenticity of private revelation -  its consistency with Public Revelation.

Though 'it is not authorised', let's take a look at a few such rather striking contradictions.
MDM:  ‘I am suffering to such an extent that the wounds inflicted upon Me at My terrible crucifixion…are opening again and festering…’ 13. 11. 2010:
The Bible: because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.   Psalm 16: 10
****
MDM  ‘Many Christians ignore one of the most fundamental promises I made during My crucifixtion [sic] where I would be present in bread and wine and leave a permanent mark to help nourish souls. 14. 4. 2011
Bible: The only promise given during the Crucifixion is:  “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”  Luke 23: 43
****
MDM  ‘All paths lead to God, the creator of mankind.’  21. 11. 2010:
Bible: ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’ John 14: 6
****
MDM: Don't you know that My Power is Almighty and that I cannot be broken, even though they may break My Bones. 7. 07, 2013.
Bible: 'He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.  Psalm 34: 20
Reading these one would wonder that maybe it is not 'authorised' to extract sections of the Bible to endorse this supposedly 'divine revelation' because simply the Bible does not endorse it.

Private Revelations and the Bible

There has never been a  true seer has ever claimed his or her messages to be equal with Holy Scripture. And even if MDM's messages conformed to the Bible and the teachings of the Church, would it be still possible to put them on par with Holy Scripture? The Church, which is the pillar and support of the truth, teaches the opposite:
Throughout the ages, there have been so-called "private" revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ's definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history. Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.(CCC 67)

Of course, according to Maria Divine Mercy the Church shouldn't even attempt to discern these messages - she tells us,
"Never try to analyse My Messages for you do not need to do so. My Word is My Word. No man can defend My Word for it is cast in stone. Any man who tries to break My Word or cast aspersions on it, will fail for they are powerless against My Holy Word. (July 2 2012).

So that apparently means the Church, without any discernment or study, should add MDM messages to the Bible, and maybe even include it in the Mass readings? Then we would probably find ourselves listening to such pearls of wisdom from MDM:

“They will never deviate from the truth no more than you. My beloved followers, can sway the truth to suit your interpretation.” 28/12/2010
“Remember God the Father is now in charge of His Kingdom which no man can tumble. Any attempt to do so will result in failure.” 14/7/2011
“Keep praying for those sacred servants of Mine who will, like Judas before them, kiss Me on one cheek while betraying Me with the other. 28/1/2013
“Many people reject them [God’s visionaries]. Even more reject those visionaries who have made themselves known to the world.” 29/11/2012
Or these threats against those who dare to speak against Maria Divine Mercy's revelations:
When you spit at Me, you will become blind and will never see again. When you utter words of hatred, your tongue will be cut out. When you stand up and declare to all your self-proclaimed knowledge of God, you will fall with your legs cut from under you. When you deem My prophet to be evil, you will have no life. (May 4th, 2013)
Compare that to Matthew 12: 32;

"And anyone who says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven but no one who speaks against the Holy Spirit will be forgiven either in this world or in the next."

Is she equal to the Holy Spirit - one wonders.

Such threats are fairly common in her writings, since they are apparently crucial for the salvation of mankind,
“You, My beloved faithful are now being called by me to stand up and defend My Holy Word so that mankind can be saved.” (15/11/2011),
Though more common is the admonition not to defend the messages, as in
“My daughter you must not respond or try to defend My word.(23/5/2011:)
Supposedly they can stand on their own. That takes care of the problem effectively because it is quite impossible to defend them. The only way to defend them is to refuse to defend them.  Better change the topic. Attack Pope Francis for example. Works almost every time.

So is Maria Divine Mercy writing new Scripture? Unfortunately for her, and fortunately for us, Catholics, she is not.

The Catholic Church teaches that public revelation is already complete:
"...no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ." Yet even if Revelation is already complete, it has not been made completely explicit; it remains for Christian faith gradually to grasp its full significance over the course of the centuries (CCC  66)
And
Christian faith cannot accept "revelations" that claim to surpass or correct the Revelation of which Christ is the fulfillment, as is the case in certain non-Christian religions and also in certain recent sects which base themselves on such "revelations". (CCC 67).
Maria Divine Mercy is not writing 'new scripture'; she is rather creating a new religion, a Catholic sect with its own 'holy book'.

Such holy books were already written, like the Koran written by Mohammed or the Book of Mormon written by Joseph Smith. Those two books claim not only divine origin, but they are supposedly not written by humans even - just like MDM who uses automatic writing to get her messages.

The Bible, on the other hand, has human authors who wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit:

God is the author of Sacred Scripture because he inspired its human authors; he acts in them and by means of them. He thus gives assurance that their writings teach without error his saving truth (CCC 136 ).
We, Catholics, already have the Book of Truth and it is called the Holy Bible; we should take seriously what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says about it,
"The Church has always venerated the Scriptures as she venerates the Lord's Body. She never ceases to present to the faithful the bread of life, taken from the one table of God's Word and Christ's Body. (CCC 103).
Perhaps if we had better knowledge of the true Word of God, we would not fall for any counterfeits as the badly written, heretical and at times plain silly messages of Maria Divine Mercy ironically called 'The Book of Truth'.
