On Saint Francis, Pope Francis, the Two Popes and the False Prophet

By David Moorcroft
Saint Francis
Since the election of Pope Francis, certain factions on the fringes of the Catholic Church, in particular extreme traditionalists and quasi-sectarian groups gathered around spurious and patently false private revelations have been exploiting the Internet for the propagation of bogus prophecies attributed to Saints and Blesseds of the Church. The claim is made that these “prophecies” have foretold the election of Pope Francis and its dire consequences for the Church.

(1) A bogus prophecy falsely attributed to St Francis of Assisi which foretells the coming of an uncanonically elected “destroyer pope” has been widely circulated.

Automatic Writing – the Final Nail on the Coffin of Maria Divine Mercy

By Alex Lim

For several months, we have dug into the messages of this woman hiding behind the fake name of Maria Divine Mercy and recently unmasked as a marketer/publicist taking advantage of the gullibility of ignorant Catholics like herself - Mary McGovern Carberry.
The nature of the messages, the semantics and their syntactic issues have spawned speculations about their origination, ranging from simple fraud as being the product of a corporation employing a few mental pygmies writing with the least command of the language, to diabolical dictation from entities from the netherworld.  Across this range, the objective is clearly to create schism in the Catholic Church while singing all the way to the bank using Christina Gallagher's business model of doomsaying as a sure way to live in mansions.

Spiritual Discernment of Private Revelations: Elementary Rules for Maria Divine Mercy Believers

By David Moorcroft

“I do not give much belief to prophecies, because most, especially those that have come to me recently, do not deserve to be read.
 – Pope Pius IX. (9th Apr 1872).

The ‘warningsecondcoming’‘messages’ themselves speak of the need for discernment. MDM alleges that‘Jesus’ told her, on 15th Aug 2011:

“THEN PRAY TO THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR THE GRACE TO BE ABLE TO SEE THAT THESE MESSAGES ARE OF DIVINE ORIGIN.”

(1) The Church teaches, as of faith, that Christ communicated the whole of the Father’s Revelation to his Apostles, who committed it to writing (Sacred Scripture), or handed it on in the word of preaching or instruction (Sacred Tradition).

Renowned Exorcist: Maria Divine Mercy's Visions Undoubtedly False

Father Elija Vella, an exorcist from Malta
Father Elija Vella was asked about Maria Divine Mercy during a Radio Maria program. Below is the transcript of what he had to say on the subject:

Question sent to Fr Elija: "For someone to say she is Maria Divine Mercy and that Jesus is appearing to her and He tells her the Pope is False. How can we find out if this person is genuine or not? Because a number of persons, some of them go to Mass every day, are believing these messages. What do you think?"

Fr. Elija: Thanks for asking because this way I will have the chance to reply to

About So-Called Prophecies of Maria Divine Mercy

Two days ago I was sent several Facebook messages alerting me about 'The Great Warning to Humankind' from an anonymous Facebook account of religious nature and apparently Catholic, solely identified by the well-known image of Jesus of Divine Mercy, with three 'likes' and with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, photograph of Pope Francis and Zamora Diocese. Zamora Diocese! (Spain). I don't give it much importance when I come across things of this kind.

I had already checked the messages, when yesterday I was given flyers announcing "the Great Warning of God"

Obedience

By Glenn Hudson

[EDITOR's NOTE:  This is a guest post and while we welcome views from writers with whom we share the same commitment to expose the fraud behind Maria Divine Mercy, we remain neutral about other private revelations and apparitions that have yet to receive Church approval]

The virtue of obedience is one of the greatest indicators for determining the authenticity of alleged apparitions.

According to the Saints, it is the only virtue the devil cannot imitate (who, by his nature, is disobedient), and is therefore the hallmark of authentic apparitions. To be obedient, says Venerable Mary of Agreda, is to cancel the sin of Lucifer, who knew what to do and chose not to do it. The Franciscan school teaches, in the religious state, the vow of obedience is the greatest of the three vows (poverty, chastity, obedience).
