Bishop Athanasius Schneider is well known for his uncompromising fidelity to the infallible Teaching of the Catholic Church.

In this video, Bishop Schneider gives the main criteria for the Church's discernment in relation to private revelations.

In the light of these criteria, he strongly condemns the writings of the one who calls herself "Maria Divine Mercy", pseudo messages disseminated in particular in the "Book of Truth".

Video of approximately 11 minutes, in English with French subtitles.

Buffalo Bishop Prohibits Dissemination of Maria Divine Mercy's Messages in Portland Diocese

Buffalo Bishop has prohibited dissemination of Maria Divine Mercy's messages in the Diocese of Portland

Bishop Richard. J. Malone
Full text below:

Dear Monsignor/Father,

Recently an enquiry was been made relative to some materials that are being disseminated through the website www.thewarningsecondcoming.com. The website contains the writings of "Maria Divine Mercy" which is the pseudonym of an anonymous woman who reportedly lives in Dublin and who claims to be a Roman Catholic and to be 'receiving spiritual guidance from the Catholic Church." Since some o the "messages" promote negative attitudes towards the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and of the Papacy, I have made further inquiry as to the "authenticity" of these alleged revelations.

Through the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, an inquiry was made of the Irish Catholic Conference to see if the Irish Bishops had issued any guidance. Some of the Irish Bishops had no knowledge of these revelations and none had made any statements. However, since the individual uses a pseudonym and is anonymous, it is difficult to investigate. However, there have been other statements made by other bishops. In particular, Bishop Coleridge of Brisbane, Australia has stated:
"I have examined some of these messages and found them to be patently fraudulent and corrosive of true Christian faith as the Catholic Church teaches it. The alleged recipient of the messages operates anonymously and refuses to identify and present herself to local Church authority for a theological examination of the content of her messages.

The messages contain certain theological and historical errors some of which fall within the category of bogus millenarianism, and they are more likely to provoke fear rather than the peace of the Spirit. They play on elements o the Catholic faith only to undermine it at its core. Moreover, they are outrageous in their claims against Pope Francis. Therefore, the messages of Maria Divine Mercy are not to be taken seriously, discussed, or distributed within the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

Additionally, both the National Catholic Register and New Advent have posted negative evaluations of the Maria Divine Mercy revelations which can be found at http://www.ncregister.com/blog/jimmy-akin/9-things-you-need-to-know-about-maria-divine-mercy and http://blog.newadvent.org/2013/03/a-closer-look-at-false-prophecies-of.html

Given the fact that the Church as not yet pronounced on the authenticity of these "revelations", and given the fact that more than one bishop has judged them to undermine the Catholic faith at its core, I hereby prohibit the dissemination or promotion of Maria Divine Mercy materials in the Diocese of Portland. If anyone approaches you or you are aware of anyone in your parish that is speaking about or promoting these materials please make them aware of this prohibition. This ban will be in effect, until such time as the "revelations" are authenticated by the Church.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Thank you for your ministry to your parishioners and for your commitment and fidelity to the Church.

May God bless you with His peace. Please know that you are in my prayers.

Yours sincerely in Christ,

(signed)
Most Reverend Richard. J. Malone
Apostolic Administrator of Portland
Bishop of Buffalo

"Bishop Richard Joseph Malone is the apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Portland. He served as the 11th Bishop of Portland, Maine, from March 2004 to May 29, 2012, when Pope Benedict XVI named him the 14th Bishop of Buffalo. Bishop Malone was installed in Buffalo on August 10,2012. Official Church Condemnation of Maria Divine Mercy

Archbishop Denis J. Hart, Melbourne
An archbishop in Australia considered one of the most powerful, Archbishop Denis J. Hart of Melbourne, has issued the following statement about an alleged seer hiding behind the name Maria Divine Mercy and based in Ireland. The official letter sent to all Melbourne parishes states:

"Maria Divine Mercy is an Irish woman who claims to be a prophetess who asserts she receives messages and visions from Jesus and Mary, especially about the end times and the end of the world. She claimed that she had predicted that Pope Benedict would be forced to resign, and that Pope Francis is an impostor.
We are informed that some people are circulating these alleged messages, together with holy pictures. Please inform your people that these matters do not have the approval of the Church, and their dissemination is to be discontinued, and any message or leaflets are to be disposed of. The Archbishop believes that he must give authoritative guidance in this matter."
[signed]--Alina Tsakonas, Personal Assistant, Office of the Vicar General

When the owner of the blog site Veritas Delectat inquired directly with the office of the Melbourne Archdiocese to check on the authenticity and veracity of this statement posted in several Catholic resources online, this is the letter of confirmation received.

THE “MARIA DIVINE MERCY” MESSAGES -- BEWARE!

Fr. Carlos Martins
(His message was lifted from the Mother of God forum dealing with MDM dated 29 April 2013))

There is an abundance of people spreading these messages on the internet. More and more people are sending me emails containing them and asking me to promote, “Maria Divine Mercy”.

Stay away from this absurd and false prophet. “Maria Divine Mercy” is not receiving authentic messages. Many ignorant and gullible people are jumping on her bandwagon, or at least entertaining her absurd messages, to their own harm.
Fr. Carlos Martins is among the Catholic priests
and other defenders of the True Church
who have been maliciously slandered and
maligned by MDMers.  None of them
can defend the indefensible heresies of their cult leader
who knows this and have conveniently instructed
its followers not to defend them, to make
them look meek, humble and persecuted.
But ofcourse, as sly as the devil, its followers
are discreditng the people trying to correct
and restore them to the right path.

It is clear that the nature of her messages are to place a wedge between the faithful and the Church, specifically between the faithful and the Holy Father, Pope Francis. One of the “revelations” received by this very misguided person is that Pope Benedict will be the last Pope on earth, that he will be ousted from office, and that Pope Francis is a false pope. All three claims are false and individuals who believe them show they do not believe Our Lord's words in Matthew 16:18-19. In questioning Pope Francis, the Vicar of Christ on earth, they are questioning Jesus Christ himself. It is for such people that Hebrews 13:9 was written: "Do not be led astray by various kinds of strange teachings." Furthermore, name for me ONE Saint in the Church's long history that placed a private vision or revelation above the word of the Pope and of the Church? You won’t find any.

“Maria Divine Mercy” states that she has received messages from “the Holy Trinity as well as by the Virgin Mary.” Name for me ONE visionary from the Church's list of approved apparitions that described himself/herself as a "visionary", "prophet", or "seer"? None exist. The seers at Fatima, St. Bernadette, St. Catherine Laboure, etc., all submitted their visions, received messages, and interpretations of both, to the Church. This is not only a recipe for spiritual health, it is also the mark of holiness. “Maria Divine Mercy” lacks both.

The hooded cloak called anonymity protects scam artist and frauds
from the  probing eyes of authorities on their nefarious and/or
fiduciary agenda.  This is the hallmark of the devil who mush hide
from the light the better to ensnare unwary victims.  This anonymity
is in and of itself enough to betray the deception behind the
MDM messages. It's very convenient for her to have her
fake Christ say that his seer must be anonymous to preserve
her protection for his evil purposes. Only from the devil.
There are no prophets from God who is anonymous.
Finally, “Maria Divine Mercy” writes anonymously. No one knows who she is. This, in fact, should be the first thing to set off alarm bells. Name for me ONE prophet that hid himself/herself in secret while slinging out "revelations" without accountability and without subjecting himself/herself to the authority of the Church? There are none.

In giving credence to “Maria Divine Mercy”, devotees are disobeying the laws of the Church, are promoting an evil which is sowing discord among the faithful, and are leading people away from the Church, the same Church for which Christ shed his blood.

Those who subscribe to or spread these messages need to repent, for one day they will come under the judgment of God for doing so.

Brisbane Archbishop Warns against spreading MDM messages

Issued to the clergy, religious and lay faithful of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, the reproduced image below of the official pastoral letter from the Archbishop of Brisbane, the Most Reverend Mark Coleridge, effectively makes it official the Church's condemnation of the false prophet Maria Divine Mercy or MDM.  As of May 28th, 2013, several online sites have already reported this such as the Adriansharp blog site  with the pdf file of the Letter you can download here.

Needless to say, followers of the discredited scam prophet will no doubt dismiss this Church issued assessment which should not be surprising at all since Satan will never follow the Church founded by the Son of its arch-enemy.
