Who Is Maria Divine Mercy?

After Ron Conte published his blog article revealing the identity of Maria
Divine Mercy, it was a question of time before someone put the information together. 'Saseen', a former follower of MDM published his excellent investigative article Maria Divine Mercy: The Woman Behind The Curtain, where he examines the background of Mary McGovern Carberry, the real person behind 'Maria Divine Mercy' - and her organisation 'Warning Second Coming'. He writes:

Since Nov. 8, 2010, a woman identifying herself as Maria Divine Mercy, a Catholic messenger from God
and the Last Prophet, has posted nearly 1,000 messages from Jesus, the Virgin Mary and God the Father on the Website TheWarningSecondComing.com. She has nearly 35,000 international Facebook followers and dozens of worldwide geographically-local Facebook sites. The main FB site, Jesus to Mankind, shows an image of a happy Jesus as messages report of cataclysmic global devastation and Satanic influences leading to the end times and schismatic separation of her followers from the institutional church. MDMers, as her devoted followers are known – possibly numbering hundreds of thousands – have turned into a cult-like mass of sincere, truth-seeking believers who have generated plenty of formal reaction from Catholic hierarchy, religious commentators and theologians.
She has passionate advocates and adversaries. She has averaged four visions a week for three years that repeat prophetic warnings from a hundred years-worth of seers, and adds lots of her own to the mix, creating a worldwide discussion-frenzy and divisiveness within communities and families, split for or against. Her internet site ranks as the finest-looking bunch of Web pages for any prophet since…well…ever. She has marketing skills!
But nothing is known of her identity. Until now.

  1. One can readily anticipate the response of Mdm'ers in light of their prophet's teaching. Sadly, many will only see this as yet another fulfillment of a prophecy or more propaganda. They are not the least interested in searching for objective truth.

“My daughter, the hatred shown to you will come from two sides, as a direct result of the disintegration of My Church on Earth. One side will be those who say they represent My Church on Earth, but who are anything but, for they represent another doctrine. The other side will be My loyal servants, who will not believe you.” [Jesus] to Mdm, April25, 2013

“You must know that the Truth causes fear and anger. The Truth given to the true prophets of God does not just create anger – because of fear, it causes outrage. Outrage and anger come from the spirit of evil. THE EVIL ONE, through the hearts of man, WILL GO TO EXTRAORDINARY LENGTHS TO STOP THE WORD OF GOD.” [Jesus] to Mdm, April25, 2013 (emphasis added by P.S.)

“Anger against the prophets is a hatred of God.” [Jesus] to Mdm April25, 2013

  2. And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their fullness, a king shall arise, having fierce features, who understands sinister schemes. His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; he shall destroy fearfully, and shall prosper and thrive; he shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. Through his cunning he shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; and he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the Prince of princes (Jesus); but he shall be broken without human means. Daniel 8:23-28
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. Second Corinthians11:13-15
You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls. Luke 21:16-19
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. First John 4:13
Jesus said to him, 'It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.' Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, 'He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!' Matthew 26:64-65
How shall we [Jews] escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard him…? Hebrews 2:3
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 12:3
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see me no more till you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD!' Matthew 23:37-39
    Rev. 20:4-6
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
…who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. First Peter 1:5

  3. Thank you Matt for your dedication.

“For the salvation offered by God to men and women, the union with Him to which they are called - in short, the Covenant - took on, from the Old Testament Prophets onwards, the privileged form of a nuptial mystery: for God the Chosen People is seen as his ardently loved spouse. Both Jewish and Christian tradition has discovered the depth of this intimacy of love by reading and rereading the Song of Songs; the divine Bridegroom will remain faithful even when the Bride betrays his love, when Israel is unfaithful to God (cf. Hos 1 - 3; Jer 2). WHEN THE “FULLNESS of TIME” (Gal 4:4) COMES, THE WORD, THE SON of GOD, COMES, TAKES ON FLESH IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH and SEAL THE NEW and ETERNAL COVENANT IN HIS BLOOD, which will be shed for many so that sins may be forgiven. His death will gather together again the scattered children of God: FROM HIS PIERCED SIDE WILL BE BORN THE CHURCH,, as Eve was born from Adam's side. At that time there is fully and eternally accomplished the nuptial mystery proclaimed and hymned in the Old Testament: Christ is the Bridegroom; the Church is his bride, whom he loves because he has gained her by his blood and made her glorious, holy and without blemish, and henceforth he is inseparable from her. This nuptial theme, which is developed from the Letters of Saint Paul onwards (2 Cor 11:2; Eph 5:22 - 23) to the writings of Saint John (especially Jn 3:29; Rev 19:7, 9), is present also in the Synoptic Gospels: the Bridegroom's friends must not fast as long as he is with them (cf. Mk 2:19); the Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who gave a feast for his son's wedding (cf. Mt 22:1 - 14). It is through this Scriptural language, all interwoven with symbols, and which expresses and affects man and woman in their profound identity, that there is revealed to us the mystery of God and Christ, a mystery which of itself is unfathomable.” Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, declaration Inter insigniores,

    1. There it is in a nutshell:
    a. Salvation History, not Mdm’s new scripture.
    b. The new and eternal covenant, not Mdm’s “final covenant.”
    c. Jesus the Lamb of God ransomed us with His blood, purchased us at great cost; whereas, Mdm has sacrificed nothing and taught the faithful they can redeem themselves.
    d. The birth of the Church born from the pierced side of Our Lord on the Cross. Jesus sacrificed everything; in contrast Mdm sacrificed nothing, not even her identity.
    e. The Catholic Church as the “inseparable” bride of Christ not the bride of Satan as Mdm has repeatedly portrayed her.
    f. The inauguration of the kingdom of heaven began with the Incarnation of the Son of God; we are not waiting for Mdm's pirated promise from Jehovah’s Witnesses, of a new paradise on earth after the battle of Armageddon.

  4. Simple quotes from the Bible could not go without an attempt to foil the messages through MDM. Its in God and Jesus we trust, not MDM. The thing MDM brings to the table is a reminder of the enlightenment God has given us and why Jesus sacafriced himself for us. I respect the choice you have made not to believe the messages, but dont mark the people that do as a Cult or as heretics. I myself dont owe anything to MDM, but am thankful for the Warning given to us through God.

“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. Acts 2:17-18

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophetsk, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead. Luke 16:31

  5. Matt, I understand you are uncomfortable with being called a heretic and that Mdm has been identified as a cult leader. Nevertheless, there is no middle ground. As for your quotes from Sacred Scripture, do you believe the Bible is infallible? If you do take S.S. seriously. than you should go back and read what happened to the rebels during Exodus who defied the leadership of Moses and were jealous of the selection of Aaron and his family to the high priesthood. We have a parallel of this same rebellious spirit today for your "prophetess" has set herself above the authority of the Church. Moreover, her accusations, slander, calumny are far more outrageous than the rebellion of Dathan, Abiron and Korah. It is a fearful thing to set oneself up in opposition to the chosen one of God. Pope Francis is the ambassador of the Lord on earth, His chosen one, His Vicar, His anointed, the shepherd. All the warnings you need Matt are already there in the authentic Word of God. You don't need a seer to remind you. Separate yourself from this counterfeit prophet who presumes to usurp the leadership of the Church Christ instituted. If not, you too will be swallowed up as you sink deeper and deeper into her pit of heresy. It is your choice: keep your faith in Christ's promises and remain in the Church or follow a self-aggrandized, megalomaniacal cult leader.

  6. On the contrary, if you actually read the messages without cutting them up and para phrasing each one, you clearly see the messages have the intent of keeping true to God and the Church. The idea is for the Church to stay true to its origins and not change what has already been taught to us by Jesus Christ. For instance, the recent message speaks of changing of the meaning of the Eucharist to become the uniting of people before God and not the sacafrice of Jesus Christ for the salvation of humanity. If this change were to actually occur, would you be ok with this because the Church tells you to?...or would you stay true to what Jesus has given us? On the subject of being a cult following, to say following the words of God, Jesus Christ and Mary makes people that read the messages a cult, then i assume you would also consider the Church a cult? Funny how you state MDM is attempting to put herself higher the the.authority of the Church, but there is no authority above God. The basic foundation of the messages include staying true to what had been already taught and that what God has said isnt made to be changed for the coveniences of man. Strange seeing what what you attempt to tear apart leads us in a better direction than the leader of the Catholic faith. As a Catholic, I am afraid. Anyone who reads the news can plainly see things are just not right. From the washing of muslim women inmates feet, avoiding of major moral subjects, statements of living by what our conscience perceives to be good and not what God tells us, leading to believe in salvation without salvation through God, not condemning sin to help the sinner, allowing question to change in priesthood within the Church, surveys sent out on moral issues meant for guidance and not for question, etc etc. I could go on and on, the point is is how do you question the faith of people want to keep things they have been for centuries when we are on the edge of big changes within the Church that only satisfies the conveniences of man. Even the bible defines the Pope as a man who is subject to downfalls as all others are.

  7. Matt, you have misrepresented the teachings of MDM. Her writing has to be understood in the context of all that she has written. Mdm lost all credibility when she declared Pope Benedict the last true pope and his successor the false prophet. Stealing the keys from St. Peter and declaring that henceforth the faithful would take orders directly from the False Messiah penned by Mdm was the height of rebellion. You have been seduced by the master of deceit. You are not necessarily acting in bad faith; there are many gentle, trusting souls who give all the arguments you do. Our vastly different conclusions after reading “The Books of Truth” may be due to selective reading or poor comprehension skills. Regrettably, this too is a typical trait of so many MDM disciples who so readily suspend all critical faculties while reading MDM. Why? Simply because the “Jesus of MDM” has commanded it. This mind control technique is characteristic of cult leaders who demand blind obedience. It follows, if one refuses to use their faculties of God given intelligence, that anything Mdm writes in the name of Jesus, is swallowed hook, line and sinker. Mdm has promised to reward you for skipping over all the errors, contradictions, false teachings, heresies, blasphemies and curses. Her promise, again through the instrument of the voice of Jesus Saviour of Mankind, is the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is her gift of discernment which allows you and your peers to accept all the aforementioned without a flicker of doubt.

Mdm’s tactics are borrowed marketing techniques from Jehovah’s witnesses who preach at people’s front doors that they are Christians, all the while failing to inform potential candidates for their sect that they really believe Jesus Christ is Michael the archangel! (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, 1989) In this case, MDM believes she is the seventh angel from the book of Revelation and that she will announce the Second Coming of Christ to the world after the blast of trumpets and His descent on the clouds. Somehow that characterization doesn’t bother you Matt. It should. Regardless of this outrageous assertion you probably imagine her to be yet another misunderstood, poor, ignorant seer in the image of St. Bernadette. This too is yet another idea Mdm has cleverly suggested in her earliest messages. No one wants to commit the sin of rash judgement and falsely accuse any Christian who thinks Jesus has a message to share with mankind. None of your brothers and sisters in the Lord have done anything but to point out with ample documentation, provided ad nauseam, the reasons why this could not possibly be the true Messiah. This woman and her team are destroying the unity of the Body of Christ. Her clever propaganda has left a path of destruction in its wake. Around the Catholic world, there is instability and distrust in many relationships which were once on a firm foundation. Choose your side carefully Matt. Go back and study the story of Moses and Aaron during the rebellion of Dathan and Abiram in Numbers 16. After all, you are the one who quoted the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus from Luke 16.

“When you witness calumny, false accusations and slander against you, My beloved followers, you will know then that this could never come from Me, your Jesus.” [Jesus] to mdm Nov.3,13.

“So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward God and toward men.” (Acts24:16)

  8. Again with all the belittling and slander, and yet you still never came close to answering any of my questions. Thats besides the point, we dont see eye to eye and I am ok with that. We agree to disagree and I will leave it at that. I believe you have good intentions and strong faith, so what we both can do is pray and keep open an ever watchful eye. God Bless

  9. Let us put our trust in the Lord and pray for each other Matt. By His grace, when we are all rejoicing in heaven, all our differences will have melted away. We are simply at different points on the road during our pilgrimage on earth. Hopefully, when you come to the turn in the road your perspective will change dramatically and you will see have a clearer view of the landscape. Until then, let us both be vigilant and prepared. As for Mdm, may the Lord rebuke her.
