A New Form Of The Cross Will Be Introduced

Maria Divine Mercy message dated April 30th, 2013 proclaimed boldly,

"Soon, not long afterwards, the garments worn by My sacred servants, will be altered and a new form of the Cross will be introduced. The new atrocity will not be based on the simple cross. Instead it will feature, discreetly, the head of the beast."

Apparently MDM  meant crucifix - which is a Cross with a Corpus, rather than a bare cross. This, like many other of her 'prophecies' has spurred a number of speculations about this new cross, which will be such an atrocity, since MDM was not specific what will be changed. And MDM followers, who might not have the best of theological or biblical

knowledge but are certainly not lacking imagination or creativity, have been spying on Pope Francis watching out for the moment when he will introduce 'a new form of the Cross' - though again, they seem to vehemently attack Crucifixes, not the crosses. Here is a brief history of some of this craziness with images lifted from MDM groups and websites. 

Part I 

It started with Pope Francis'  Pectoral Cross. 

And this is where their speculations led them:

We, ordinary Catholics not gifted with such rich imagination or gift of discern would see other similarities - all with crossed arms on the chest as above. Like maybe this one:

Or the frequent depiction of our Lord's Baptism

Part II 

Then came the Pope Francis' visit to the Mediterranean island of Lampedusa, and his cross made of fishing boats used by immigrants to get to the island:

which reminded some of... New Age Yin Yang symbol. 

What's in the middle is clearly a heart, and two fishes on the sides. But if you try hard enough and have MDM's 'gift of discernment', which is apparently seeing things that are not there, and not seeing the obviuos, then maybe? 

Part III

But let us fast-forward to the World Youth Days held in July 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Another cross! 

This time imagination has really run wild:

Of course it doesn't matter to MDM followers that this cross was a gift from the youth gathered to celebrate WYD. And that Pope Francis didn't 'introduce it' - it was presented to him; a work of a local artist. Here is a close-up of the picture:

Update October 14

Just when we thought it could not get any stranger, we have another cross that according to MDM followers could be this abomination. This is it:

This cross with symbols of Alpha and Omega supposedly has a horse shoe in it! No comments!

On a more serious note, what is the use of watching the Pope, his atire, actions and gestures if we fail to watch over something that the Bible commands us to watch - our hearts: 

More than all else, keep watch over your heart, since here are the wellsprings of life. (Proverbs 4: 23)

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander (Matthew 15: 19)

And if we are so eager to see evil in Pope, maybe it's time we ponder another Scripture - Titus 1: 15

To those who are pure themselves, everything is pure; but to those who have been corrupted and lack faith, nothing can be pure -- the corruption is both in their minds and in their consciences.
